What about temporary power outages ?

You may have noticed that in particularly bad storms, you lose total power for a couple of seconds or longer. This plays havoc on your computer as it may cause the system to reboot (without cleanly shutting down). This in itself can cause data corruption and/or system inoperability.

Stressed... Who’s stressed ????

If a system is repetitively power cycled many times in short succession, it puts the electronic components under stress (I know, stressed components ... what will I come up with next ?). When electronics are first powered on, it puts them under stress as currents initially flow throughout the circuit.  By turning a system on and off repetitively a lot of component stress is caused which will probably result in a component failure.
